Qatar has implemented stricter quality control and safety measures for dairy products, highlighted by the official removal of Cyprus from the permitted Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) free import list and a new mandate requiring the country of origin to be displayed on the front of all packaging. The directive enforces rigorous manufacturing and logistics rules, dictating that UHT milk, pasteurized milk, and creams be made strictly from fresh milk rather than powder, restricting the use of vegetable oils exclusively to low-fat cheese and cream variants, and setting tight shelf-life boundaries such as requiring fresh pasteurized milk and Laban to enter the country within 48 hours of production.
These strict compliance mandates completely replace previous dairy regulations but explicitly exempt infant formula, organic dairy, milk-based sweets, and non-cow milk varieties like camel or goat milk. This circular eliminates the previous circular related to dairy and dairy products and replace it. Contact us for more details.
