Date of Publishing: 07/02/2025                 Affected Region: Turkey

Türkiye's Ministry of Agriculture & Forestry (MinAF) updated its pesticide maximum residue limits (MRLs) for food, aligning them more closely with EU standards. Imports must comply with the new MRLs by April 7, while domestic and previously imported products can be sold until their shelf life expires. The update was notified to the WTO, with the U.S. expressing concerns over stricter limits that could impact trade. The revised MRL list, structured into five annexes, details regulations for domestic and imported products, prohibited pesticides, and exemptions.
