This standard specifies the requirements that must be met by processed tomato concentrates, tomato purees and tomato paste intended for direct consumption, including those intended for catering purposes or repackaging when needed or when indicated as being intended for further processing. It does not include products containing seeds and peels such as surface layers. For pizza and other similar products, as well as products known as tomato sauce, chili sauce, ketchup, or similar products seasoned with high concentrations and containing distinctive ingredients such as pepper, onion, vinegar, sugar, etc.
