Titanium dioxide E171 is going to be Banned by GSO across all GCC

Titanium dioxide E171 is going to be banned by GSO across all GCC.

Saudi FDA and Yemen already communicated the E171 ban earlier this month.

The regulation will be implemented by December this year, yet measures will be taken beforehand.

Companies should consider a replacement for titanium dioxide in their products, and we can help.

We recommend that you take the following actions:

  • The engagement: Share with us any comments, arguments or scientific evidences to initiate authority communications

  • The replacement: Send us your alternative ingredient options to check their permissibility

  • The timelines: Let us know if you will be needing more time for reformulations to help you apply for a grace period extension

Deadline for commenting: 15/07/2022

Deadline for implementation: 12/12/2022
