Turkish Food Codex Regulation on Novel Foods

This Regulation lays down the procedures and principles regarding the placing of novel foods on the market, the lists and conditions of use for novel foods.

This Regulation enters into force on the date of its publication. Food business operators operating before the publication date of this Regulation must comply with the provisions of this Regulation until 31 December 2024. Foods that are labelled or placed on the market before 31 December 2024 can be found in the market until the end of their shelf life.

Food business operators operating before the publication date of this Regulation are obliged to comply with the provisions of the legislation in force before the publication date of this Regulation, in matters falling within the scope of this Regulation, until they comply with the provisions of this Regulation.
