Kuwait Issues Temporary Exemption on Certain Food Import Documentation Requirements

 Circular
Date of Publishing: 05/03/2026     Affected Region: Kuwait

The circular activates a temporary exemption for specific countries and food shipments from certain original documentation and certification requirements usually mandated by the Imported Food Regulation (Decree No. 6 of 2023). While providing this administrative flexibility to ensure the flow of goods, the Authority emphasizes that there will be no compromise on food safety standards or technical specifications.

The Imported Food Department is instructed to immediately notify inspection centers, maintain a detailed ledger of all shipments benefiting from this exemption, and provide periodic reports to the Sector Head until the exemption is officially revoked. Contact us for more details.
