Requirements for the Use of Quality Rating Phrases on Food Product Labels

This circular mandates that all food manufacturers and importers must ensure that any stated quality grade or classification on a product's label adheres to the approved technical regulations and standards. To prove compliance, importers of food products must attach a consignment conformity certificate issued by an SFDA-appointed Conformity Assessment Body with the clearance request , while local manufacturers must provide a technical analysis report issued by an SFDA-appointed Conformity Assessment Body for testing activity.

 The Authority stated that it will implement regulatory measures against non-compliance after a period of 6 months from the circular's issuance date. Contact us for more details.
